Five for Fri - 8th August

Here are my five randoms for this week

Sport - we have had a group of young adults coming in and taking our kids for sports sessions once a week for five weeks. Today we got to practise our cricket skills. Our kids are loving this time.

Richard came to speak to our kids this week. He is a para Olympian who is so proud of his achievement - as he should be.
Our kids got to ask him questions and we learnt such a lot from him about setting goal and achieving them.
He is super star!
He has just come back from Glasgow and he spoke about the Athlete Village, friends he has made, how his life is planned and how he loves representing our country.
An amazing man and we were so lucky to hear him and have him in our school.

Some of these photos are from the Athens games.

I have been trying to get my assessments in order. I still can't work out of I am fully digital - part paper or what. I do use the CCPensieve for Daily 5 and Cafe to keep notes and love it.

Our kids reset their goals today. We used the pack from the 3am teacher

On a Friday night we usually go out for dinner. We love this place - grilled salmon, my fav.
With some nice wine and maybe another glass at home!

Happy weekend everyone

  4. What an inspirational story to be shared with your students! You can read about athletes or others that have tragedy turned into success, but there is nothing like hearing it firsthand! Our entire school system was just treated to a visit from a young man that made us all feel blessed just for hearing him! Thanks for sharing!
