Five for Friday - 18th October

Five for Friday is here so head on over to link up with Kacey
This was a long, long week full of learning, science, mess and what I love - coffee and friends
Here are my five randoms for this week

My messy desk and correcting Literature circle roles.

We are well into our next round of Literature Circles and are using these books, here is also a screen shot of our timetable and role schedule.

for more detail check out my Literature Circle pack

Our Year Fives did a read the room task based on Australian Explorers. We had about 60 kids looking and recording facts as the start of our next inquiry. We tied this into our reading skill focus of summary and note taking.

At the end of the task they had facts for six explorers and then had to come up with an inquiry question as well as a format for presentation that was not a power point, not a poster and not a diorama. Stay tuned......

Life without family and friends would just be insurmountable. So even in our busy lives - we need to make time to relax, laugh and enjoy the company of  this lovable people.
This week I got flowers - just because...

Random coffees and walks around the lake make for a great week.

Oh and listening to some great music - helps to put stuff in perspective too!!

We had a Science Day at school this week. It was run by a group of scientists from Melbourne University. Our kiddos made speakers with a wore coat hanger, paper and copper wire. The day ended with a big finale in our gym.
A great day for our kids and lots of fun.

For my USA Buddies - you have a birthday coming up for this lady! I have been busy researching and compiling this for you. It focuses on Information Reports and reading facts. There are so many iconic structures around our planet and I just love getting to know about them.

Have a great week everyone.
