Five for Friday - 7 Nov

Here are my five randoms for this week

We have had a break from school today for our local show!
I should be writing reports as our school year is coming to a close.

But Tony and I went out for lunch at a place near our Botanical Gardens.

Then we walked in the gardens.....

We have a Prime Minister's Walk that has sculptures of all our Prime Ministers since Federation.

Just recently our previous Prime Minister, Julia Gillard came to town to have hers unveiled.

Gough Whitlam who was our Prime Minister in the 70's passed away. This week was his memorial service and many parts of our nation celebrated the massive impact he made. Among his achievements were - free tertiary education (the Liberal government have since taken that away), family law reform, Native title, divorce without blame, free health care, work force equity for women and so much more.
He was a massive fan of the Arts, we are a changed society because of him.

This week at work I have been super busy, but did not take any photos. Here is a brief summary of my week.
Monday - coaching 5 teachers, ran half the staff meeting, assisted a team to do writing moderation - two parent phone calls and home at 7pm
Tuesday - teach all day - meeting at lunch time, coach and assist 2 teachers to plan, chair a Professional Learning Team - home at 6pm
Wednesday - Teach and do yard duty
Thursday - meeting before school, teach all day, leave school at 4:30 and back at 6:30 to run a meeting for a parent group on curriculum
Friday - day off..........................

  1. Hi Paula, I can relate to your very full week... and they say teachers have short days! Ha. I've been cruising around your blog and love hearing about things like High Tea... here in Michigan I just can't go out and find special treats like this! Ah, Australia. BTW, your post title says Oct 7... somehow the month didn't update :) See you around! Kathleen

  2. I am so jealous of your beautiful weather. It is getting colder here, leaves are falling off the trees, and I fear we are going to have a harsh winter! I may just need to come visit you guys in Australia!
