A walk around our 5/6 Learning Space - these are just some posters in our shared space.
Character Traits
Here is a photo story of some character traits for characters from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
I am currently working on a unit for this story for Years 5/6.

Transition Program - the start
This week our Prep team started the Transition Program for our next group of kids who will start next year.
I work closely with two of these teachers and the whole team did an amazing job.
The team did an amazing job in communicating to parents, kinders and our school community to accommodate the start of school for this group.
Here are some tasks that this group of children did when they visited us.
It is the start of their school journey!
Reports......
I am usually one of those teachers who has them done well in advance - not too much in advance, as they are out of date the moment you write them. That is the frustrating part for me.
So all semester, we gather data and yet there are teachers who scramble to look for it and even do the data thing!
There are some that just panic - I know this is harsh, but it is part of our job twice a year here in Australia.
So we just need to get on with it.
This year (I still have almost two weeks to go before I need them done) I have
- cleaned the fridge, the freezer, the microwave
- emptied all the cupboards in the kitchen and did a spring clean
- tidied up the front and back garden
- our house is the tidiest it has been in a while
So a stern talk to myself and yesterday I bunkered down and all weekend I have spent on my laptop writing my comments and cross checking progression points.
I am finished my first draft. I will print them off tomorrow and get my husband to proof read and then make changes - final upload and then wait to get them back from the Principal signed........

Melbourne Cup and other horse races
Every year on the first Tuesday in November in Australia we have a horse race that stops a nation - or so they say! At about 3:00pm you will see empty shops, no cars on the road - because everyone is attached to a TV or radio to listen to the winner for this year.
(Pssst - check the end of this post for a rafflecopter give-away for $30 to spend in my store)

This has been going on for 152 years and this year is number 154!

There are massive bets on this race and many sweeps across the nation, including in classrooms and staffrooms.

Fashions on the field are delicious and there are fashion shows and the stakes are high.

Here is something to help you celebrate in your classroom - the pack relates to any horse race really.

Have a bit of fun!

almost 1000 followers on Facebook
I am so humbled to have so many followers on my facebook page for Paula's Place.
Each and every one of you makes me smile, encourage me to work harder and motivate me to think more creatively each time I produce something. I am a better teacher for it.
So in a genuine gesture of thanks I have decided to have a sale on every pack in my TPT store for two days. Starting 30th Oct and ending on the 31st October USA time.
In addition I will be holding a rafflecopter over the week and the winner will get to choose packs from my TPT store to the value of $30.00, yes $30.00!
