End of term....

At the end of each term - as a Prep team - we collect all the work from our Daily 5 box and out it all together and send it home.

We decided last year we were gluing paper on paper in a book and we should cut down on our book list and this is how we do it. So no scrapbook for English, Mathematics or Integrated Studies.

Over the term we take pieces of work that will go in their portfolios and everything else goes home!

Our kids design the cover and it is a keepsake for parents. They draw what has meant the most to them from this term on the front cover.

In this booklet goes - word work. work on writing, maths and Discovery Learning work.

Parents are updated on progress and it goes home on the last day and is a great conversation piece over the break.

I just love their drawings on the front cover.

  1. This is such a great idea - we are just beginning to discuss ideas for next year so I will definitely be suggesting this. Do you keep the papers in a plastic sleeve or folder so they don't get all creased? Our book boxes are so full already haha

    1. We use the plastic wallets with the stud button. Our kids manage them well.

  2. great idea! I have been using scrapbooks this year and cutting back on photocopies big time, but gluing them any work in is VERY time consuming. Some teachers at my school use the 20 pocket display books. But, with preppies, they can't file their work themselves! So I think next year I will definitely consider this!! :)
