Maths time

Today we started on  revising  'friends of 10'.

We rolled a large dice and made that collection and then worked out the collection that we needed to make ten.

We had lots of fun doing this. Some used farm animal counters and some used unifix.

We had a bit more fun and challenged ourselves to do this with accuracy and fluency.

Then we moved onto doubles. Again we used a large dice and used counters. It is so important to have a variety of hands on materials to choose from to show our learning and understanding.

We have also been working on vertical addition.

Ladybug Maths - Doubles and Adding Fun

Ladybug maths - I have prepared a packet for you to use to do this task and this is what it looks like finished.

There were three differentiated tasks, that is why the numbers/equations look different. Some were looking at just a number - some were doing doubles and some were showing an equation.

Click here to access the packet.
I have just revised this packet - added about 20+ pages and three more tasks.

A ladybug maths task for adding and doubling

This week we will use a ladybug to help us count.

Some of my children are ready to look at doubles and some are ready to place an equation with the task as well.

The photo of the three ladybugs show how you can use the task three different ways to assist or extend learning.

I have revised this file to add an extra 20+ pages plus more tasks to support learning around adding and doubles.
