Prawn Plate

My friend over at Mrs Poultney's Ponderings has started a food linky for teachers to give you inspiration to eat well and be ready for the busy school week ahead

Paula’s Prawn Plate…hehehe
This is my go to salad in summer, but even in winter it is easy to make and just as enjoyable with your fav glass of wine
Not that long ago mangoes and avocados were seasonal – but not any longer, so this can be made all year round
It is my bit of sunshine in the middle of winter
On a platter place lettuce to cover the bottom of the plate
Then scatter shelled and tailed prawns – as many as you want
Then add cubed avocado, mango and fetta
Top with macadamias
I add a dressing – usually a store bought one like thousand island
Share with friends or family or keep it to yourself!

This is a meal on its own – or enjoy with a steak

Teacher Tip - Core Drawers

I have had these core drawers for a while and was never satisfied with how I stored my 'stuff'.
The kids found it hard to locate and put things away until I decided to give them a face lift with clip art and fonts I love.

Now we can locate things very easily and if I need to change the contents because of a  new focus - it is easy to remove the label and replace with a new one.

What I love about them too - is that if a group need a drawer, they just take it and put it back when they are done.

Now everything has a place.

Follower Frenzy

Follower Frenzy

This week has been mad!

I'm not sure I have followed the followers frenzy correctly...

Stephanie at Fishing for Education has been working so hard to create a community of bloggers and has then created the site

Australian Teachers

As I said this week has been mad...

My next two are bloggers - TPTers that I feel I know so well because they have been using the periscope app at the TPT Vegas Conference.

They have blown up social media and have initiated what I call a revolution and assisted in creating tribes, which equals groups...

They have shown us Vegas in an amazing way and those of us who couldn't get there - felt like we were.

Mass v weight freebie (metric)

Mass v weight - this is difficult for some students to understand and we need to make sure our definitions and examples are clear and concise.

We use Interactive Notebooks a little differently to everyone else probably.

This is how we do it our space!

This is metric

This freebie contains 2 options 1 in black and white and 1 in
colour/color

On the left hand side of the book we start with the Learning
Intention eg – We are learning how to measure mass and use weight
Then we record what we know about mass
On the right side of your book cut and glue the heading at the top
Cut and glue the flap for Mass and Weight under the heading
Add the definitions underneath the correct flap
Add the conversion chart at the bottom
The remainder of the week we spend on tasks to extend our thinking
At the conclusion we then record new learning and record proof of this learning

Happy measuring....

Dare to Dream

Dare to Dream Challenge

I create products for these reasons - I want to be the best I can be and have my kids be the best they can be.

I compare my work and level of creativity before my journey with Paula's Place and now, the professionalism of my resources alone have motivated more of my students to do better.
As I share with colleagues, see my work pop up in other learning spaces, receive feedback. network with amazing teachers around the world - I know this was the right choice for me.

Plan with me Sunday

This planning linky is bough to you by

and

This post is about personal planning. I have an Erin Condren Life Planner and I am obsessive about it.

I have interchangeable covers - you will see more of these next week...

I have a clutch that houses my planner, pens and iPad.

This keeps everything in one place.

I have heaps of stickers that stay in the back of my planner.

My month view helps plan out my month - next week, see the weekly detail.
Where would we be without Washi tape?

Happy planning!

Challenge Week 1 - Make Over

I have made over my Adding to 20 pack.

This was one of my very first posted packs and needed to have a re vamp to match the other products in my store.

It is on sale for the next 4 days....

It did look like this.

I created it in word and the clip art was not sitting quite right like it can do in PowerPoint.

I re created it in PowerPoint and am much happier at how it looks now.

Weather and lunch with a friend

Hello winter - I am so not ready for you!

What a difference a day makes.

I travelled to Melbourne today on the train to meet up with Chantelle from Miss Jacob's Little Learners.
We had lunch and chatted for hours

 View my Profile!

We were so busy chatting we didn't take photos.
We will have another lunch mid July and I promise we will have photos.

We talked fonts, borders and what makes our classroom the great place to be.
Talking to a blogger who gets what we do and sees the impact that this has made on making us a better teacher is a real treat to meet.
