2D shapes

Last week we revised what makes a triangle, circle, rectangle and square.

We used attribute blocks to look at the number of sides and corners.

We used different words like corners, points, lines, edges.

Then made connections between each shape that were similar and different.

Orally we brainstormed where each shape could be found in our environment.

We turned the shape into something and talked about what the shape is, how we turned it into a new object.

The children then dictated a sentence to go with it before I hung them up.

They were very inventive and did lots of talking about the drawings and shapes.

When our parents have been in the room they have loved them too.
